Santa Barbara

The Weekend after Valentines Day Matt had an Endodontics conference in Santa Barbara. We knew this would be coming up so we decided to make this our gift to each other. We had such a blast! No kids and no plans! Just our style! We literally booked our hotel at 7:00 pm and paid $70 for it. Unfortunately - Matt left me in charge of remembering the camera bag. I blame him because he should know better then to give a pregnant lady the responsibility of remembering anything. We were so bummed to not be able to record this fun weekend! I was so stoked my SIL gave us the brilliant idea of getting a DISPOSABLE CAMERA! It turned out to be a really fun idea. We had gotten so used to just taking a million pictures with our digital and seeing the way they turned out that it was fun to just snap them and hope they looked good. So here is what we got!

Our first night there we ordered pizza and stayed in and watched a movie. The next morning we loved being able to slept in, went and had the free continental breakfast, then went down town to shop. The shops there are so cool and we just walked around for hours. We grabbed a sandwich for lunch and sat outside enjoying the beautiful California weather. Santa Barbara is right on the coast so we walked down the pier and watched the water. Unfortunately the fishy smell from the warf wasn't good for me so it was short lived!

Then we drove up into the hills and looked at some amazing houses. We even did a little dreaming and pretended we were relocating to the area and were looking to buy. One house we saw was having an open house and we walked through it. I WAS IN LOVE!! Beautiful view, big open windows, incredible back yard, seriously awesome. The one downfall....it was 1.9 million dollars. Yeah, I said that right - million! 3 beds, 2 1/2 baths for 2 million dollars. Incredible! Maybe someday!

I love traveling with Matt. We are good together when it comes to deciding what to do, where to eat, how much to spend, etc. We have been to alot of really cool places together and after this trip I realized no matter where we go its just fun to be with him. I really appreciate his easy going personality and sense of humor to laugh when things dont always go as planned. Thanks Matt for a fun weekend and thanks Nan for watching the kids!

I'm so "brillant" I can't even spell BRILLIANT! Serves me right. Can I blame it on post pregnancy if it's been 3 1/2 years?

I'm so glad you guys had fun. It sounds like the perfect getaway! And the pictures turned out great by the way. That was really a disposable? They've come a long way baby.

Not to shabby for a disposable camera! Looks like you had a blast. That is a lot of cash for one house, wowzers!
