(The trees were absolutely amazing! The pictures we took don't
even do justice to how massive and incredible they were.)
After we got back from Idaho Falls Matt had a few more days off that we wanted to take advantage of and do our own little family vacation. Matt had the idea to go Camping up to Sequioa National Forest. We had such a great time being together and making our own family memories! Eliza Kept saying "mom, I love camping!" and it made it all worth it!
(Setting up camp! Porter was really into it and
wanted to be just like dad. Eliza got bored of it after
hammering in one stake and then decided she needed some relaxation!)
It was nice to do "true" camping again. We hadn't done it in so long and it was fun setting up our campground and using all our camping equipment we hadn't used in awhile.
Things we loved about our trip:
-Roasting Marshmallows and making S'mores every night.
-Hot Chocolate in the morning
-Sleeping in a tent
-Hiking (We did alot of this! I think the kids were done with it by the end but we saw some amazing things!)
-Seeing the huge trees
-Being together
-Having a tent heater!
-Cooking some good meals all on our Coleman stove.
A few things we didn't love about our trip:-It was 45 degrees at night...BRRRRRR!!!!
-We didn't have a campsight reservation (turned out for the best because of the camp hosts being so nice and just letting us stay behind their Camper! We really lucked out!)
-No showers. Yuck! Look at Eliza's feet after the first day. You can only imgaine what we all looked like after 4 days!

You are such a trooper! Pregnant and camping? Wow.
I don't think we've used our camping equipment once since we've had kids. Kinda sad cause I like to camp.
Looks like you guys had a fantastic time!
So way fun! You guys are still always on the go and I love that about you. Looks like you had a great trip and one the kids will remember! We recently invested in some sleeping bags....after seeing this, maybe we will now purchase a tent!

So fun! You look so awesome too. Can't believe you didn't have uncomfortable sleeping, Does the Pregnants like to sleep on the hard ground?
Love this post. What great memories you made--SO worth it!! The pictures are so darling. You can tell how much the kids are LOVING this family time.
